Another Assassination Attempt on Trump: Is the Left’s Rhetoric Fueling Violence?

The left has been spewing hatred and vitriol toward Donald Trump for years, and the consequences are now staring us right in the face. The violent rhetoric from the left-wing media, Hollywood, and liberal politicians is turning into real-world violence. On Sunday, former President Trump became the target of yet another assassination attempt—this time at his West Palm Beach golf course. This isn’t just another isolated incident. No, this is a pattern, a disturbing one.

It was the second assassination attempt in just two months. That’s right, two in two months. While the liberal elites sit comfortably behind their microphones and spew their venom, people like Ryan Wesley Routh are out there, rifles in hand, ready to take action against a man who dared to challenge the leftist agenda.

What We Know About the Attack

On Sunday, September 15th, Trump was out playing golf at his Florida club, the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. As usual, the Secret Service was doing their job, sweeping the course and staying one or two holes ahead of the former president. But what they encountered was no routine day of protection.

A Secret Service agent spotted the barrel of a rifle—a scoped AK-47, to be exact—poking through the shrubbery along the course. This wasn’t just any gun. This was a high-powered, military-style weapon with the potential to take down anyone from a distance. And the man holding that rifle wasn’t just another misguided liberal—he was someone with a history, someone with a mission.

The gunman, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, was 300 to 500 yards away from Trump when the Secret Service spotted him. Immediately, they opened fire, four to five rounds, forcing Routh to drop his weapon and flee the scene. He left behind not only his AK-47 but two backpacks, a GoPro camera, and a scope.

Routh fled in a black Nissan, but thanks to the quick thinking of a witness who snapped a photo of the car and its license plate, law enforcement was able to apprehend him as he drove north on I-95, about 38 miles from the scene.

Who is Ryan Wesley Routh?

Now, here’s where things get even more unsettling. Ryan Routh isn’t some random guy who woke up one day and decided to take a shot at Trump. This man has a history—both criminal and political—that paints a disturbing picture of someone deeply entrenched in the kind of radicalized mindset the left claims doesn’t exist.

Routh’s rap sheet dates back to the early 2000s, with multiple felony convictions in North Carolina. His crimes range from carrying a concealed weapon to resisting arrest, to hit-and-run incidents, and even possession of stolen property. This is no law-abiding citizen with a simple grievance. This is a man who has been breaking the law for decades.

But it’s not just his criminal history that’s alarming. Routh has been deeply involved in international political causes, many of which align with the far-left’s agenda. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Routh traveled to Ukraine, calling for foreign fighters to join the war effort. He didn’t stop there—his social media was a cesspool of anti-China rhetoric, accusations of biological warfare, and other conspiracy theories.

This is a man who clearly has strong political beliefs, and they aren’t based on conservative values. He wasn’t just a criminal; he was a political agitator, emboldened by the left’s constant drumbeat of anger, division, and hatred toward Trump.

The Left’s Rhetoric is Fueling This Violence

You won’t hear this on CNN or MSNBC, but let’s be honest: the media has been planting the seeds of this violence for years. They call Trump a “fascist,” a “racist,” and a “threat to democracy,” and then act surprised when people like Ryan Routh take up arms. They claim to be against political violence, but their constant demonization of Trump and his supporters tells a different story.

This isn’t just happening in a vacuum. Two months ago, at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump was shot and wounded in another assassination attempt. The left tried to downplay it, as usual. But these aren’t isolated events—they are part of a larger pattern of political violence that has become the new normal in America. And make no mistake, this violence is fueled by the left’s hateful rhetoric.

When Hollywood celebrities are openly fantasizing about Trump’s assassination, when liberal pundits are calling for resistance “by any means necessary,” and when Democratic politicians stand on their platforms and encourage their supporters to “get in the faces” of Trump’s allies, this is the natural result.

We’re living in a time where political violence is not only tolerated but, in some cases, encouraged by the radical left. The constant attacks on Trump, the smears, the lies, and the propaganda—all of it is creating an environment where people like Routh feel justified in their actions.

What Happens Next?

Routh is in custody now, and the FBI is leading the investigation. They’ve expanded their efforts globally, digging into his connections and online activity, which include platforms based outside of the United States. This isn’t just a local issue; this is international, and it’s a reflection of how far-left radicalism is spreading across the globe.

But the big question is: what happens next? Will the media finally take responsibility for the role they’ve played in creating this toxic environment? Will leftist politicians back down from their divisive rhetoric and call for unity? Don’t hold your breath. If anything, they’ll likely double down, blaming Trump for “inciting” the violence against himself, as absurd as that sounds.

What we need now is a reckoning. The American people need to wake up to the reality of what’s happening in this country. Political violence isn’t some far-off, third-world problem—it’s happening here, right now. And it’s happening because the left has spent years fanning the flames of hatred and division.

Final Thoughts

Ryan Routh isn’t an outlier. He’s the product of a culture that has normalized violence against anyone who dares to challenge the left’s agenda. And until we confront the root cause of this issue—the left’s toxic rhetoric—things will only get worse.

It’s time for the American people to stand up and say enough is enough. We cannot allow this kind of political violence to continue. Trump may have been the target this time, but next time it could be any one of us.
