Biden Takes Pride in Being the ‘First Black Female Vice President’

Joe Biden’s Latest Verbal Slip Raises Eyebrows

In a recent turn of events, President Joe Biden has once more drawn attention towards himself for an unexpected reason. During an interview on Thursday, the President made yet another statement that quickly became a headline, as he identified himself as the “first black woman to serve with a black president.” This verbal misstep happened during a media session on Independence Day, as Biden tried to regain public trust following a less than impressive debate performance.

In conversation with host Andrea Lawful-Sanders, who likely had to take a moment to process Biden’s unusual assertion, the President seemed to mix up his roles and identities in a sentence that left many puzzled. He stated, “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman, to serve with a black president.”

It appears that Biden was attempting to spotlight his history-making selections such as Vice President Kamala Harris, the first Black woman to hold this office, and Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman nominated for the Supreme Court. However, in typical Biden fashion, his intended message got lost in a maze of words more convoluted than a political thriller plot.

This isn’t the first time Biden has been caught making such gaffes. Who can forget his recent claim: “I was the first president that got elected statewide in the state of Delaware when I was a kid”? It’s a puzzling statement considering Biden never served as Delaware’s governor and certainly wasn’t elected president during his youth.

The timing of this latest blunder could not be worse. Following a challenging debate performance where he appeared less like an experienced politician and more like a deer caught in headlights, this error only heightened concerns about his age and mental acuity. Critics have latched onto these moments, questioning Biden’s fitness to lead.

Adding to the controversy, Biden’s campaign spokesperson, Ammar Moussa, quickly downplayed the media uproar, contending that the President’s speech pattern is perfectly normal for him and has been consistent throughout his career. “What are we even doing anymore?” Moussa quipped, attempting to dismiss an increasingly uncomfortable narrative around Biden’s suitability for another term.

With the upcoming election, Biden’s ability to navigate public appearances without such blunders will be under close watch. With adversaries eager to capitalize on every mistake, the stakes couldn’t be higher. For now, though, his latest gaffe serves as material for comedic relief and late-night talk shows.

As Biden continues his campaign trail, one thing is clear: In the unpredictable world of politics, sometimes the biggest headlines come from the smallest slip-ups.
