U.S. Border Patrol agents, in a major victory for national security, uncovered a highly sophisticated smuggling tunnel stretching from Tijuana, Mexico, into San Diego, California. The tunnel, equipped with ventilation, electrical systems, and even a rail track for mass drug transportation, underscores the relentless efforts of cartels and foreign criminal organizations to exploit America’s porous southern border. This discovery is yet another stark reminder of the critical need for President Donald Trump’s strong border policies, which the liberal media continues to undermine with their soft-on-crime, open-border agenda.
The tunnel, measuring nearly 3,000 feet long and descending 50 feet underground, was discovered by the San Diego Sector Tunnel Team in April during its construction. Agents found multiple barricades designed to block law enforcement from tracing the tunnel back to its Tijuana entry point—a clear sign of the cartels’ calculated efforts to evade detection. Mexican authorities later located the entrance hidden beneath tile flooring in a residential house in Nueva Tijuana, further proving the lengths these criminal networks will go to infiltrate the U.S.
Jeffrey D. Stalnaker, Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the San Diego Sector, emphasized the severity of the threat: “As we continue to strengthen the nation’s air and maritime border security, it’s not surprising that foreign terrorist organizations would resort to underground routes.” His words highlight the undeniable reality that weak border enforcement invites not just drug trafficking but potential terrorism. Yet, the liberal media continues to dismiss such concerns, instead pushing narratives that prioritize illegal immigration over American safety.
This is not an isolated incident. In January, a similar tunnel was found in El Paso, Texas—another glaring example of how cartels exploit gaps in border security. While President Trump’s administration successfully reduced illegal crossings to historic lows, the current administration’s lax policies have emboldened smugglers, leading to a resurgence of these dangerous underground networks.

“Disruption of narcotics smuggling tunnels is critical to protecting American lives,” Stalnaker declared, praising the bravery of Border Patrol agents and cooperation with Mexican law enforcement. Yet, where is the outrage from the left? Instead of applauding these efforts, liberal outlets remain fixated on vilifying Trump’s proven strategies while ignoring the escalating crisis at the border.
This discovery marks the 95th such tunnel found in the San Diego area since 1993—proof that the fight is far from over. President Trump’s unwavering commitment to border security, including the construction of the wall and aggressive enforcement, remains the only effective solution. The liberal media may continue to spin the narrative, but the facts speak for themselves: strong borders save lives.
