Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is facing serious legal trouble after being arrested on Wednesday morning. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Mahomes was booked into the Johnson County Detention Center on $100,000 bond, and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of battery.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on February 25 at a Kansas City bar, where Mahomes allegedly assaulted a restaurant owner and a waiter. The owner, Aspen Vaughn, told the Kansas City Star that Mahomes pushed a 19-year-old waiter several times and then asked to speak with her privately in her office. There, he reportedly grabbed her by the neck and kissed her forcefully twice, leaving a bruise on her neck. A surveillance video of the alleged attack was posted online and went viral.
Mahomes’s lawyer denied the allegations in March and said that releasing a short clip of the video does not provide proper context. He also said that he had faith in the process and looked forward to a swift resolution of the matter.
Mahomes is a social media influencer who often attends his brother’s games and posts videos of his reactions. He has been criticized for some of his behavior in the past, such as dancing on the late Sean Taylor’s memorial logo at FedEx Field in 2021, for which he later apologized. He also poured water on Baltimore Ravens fans who were taunting him during a game.
In reality, the guy seems to be kind of a you-know-what, so it’s no surprise that he was arrested. I would venture to guess that this likely won’t be the last time either. In fact, while I was learning about this and thinking about what I already know about him, I would say that at some point in his life, he’ll be going to prison for a little while.
