The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has dropped a bombshell on the Democrat Party’s latest stunt, releasing stringent visitation guidelines for members of Congress and their staff at ICE detention centers. This move comes after a group of unruly Democrats, including Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Reps. LaMonica McIver, Bob Menendez Jr., and Bonnie Watson Coleman, stormed an ICE facility in Newark, demanding the release of criminal illegal aliens. While Baraka was arrested for criminal trespass, the Democrat lawmakers—who engaged in what can only be described as riotous behavior—have so far escaped consequences.
But DHS isn’t playing games. In a firm response to the left’s lawless theatrics, the agency posted bodycam footage exposing the violent altercation, captioned with a simple but devastating rebuttal: “Let’s check the tape.” The footage dismantles the Democrats’ false narrative, proving their actions were anything but peaceful “oversight.”
Yet, in a desperate attempt to justify their misconduct, Rep. Menendez Jr. claimed, “No matter what this Administration tells the American people, the law is very clear: Members of Congress have a legal right to enter any DHS detention facility to conduct oversight without prior notice.”

DHS wasn’t having it.
In a blistering post on X, the agency fired back: “Members of Congress cannot break the law in the name of ‘oversight.’ All members and staff need to comply with facility rules, procedures, and instructions from ICE personnel on site.” The message was clear—no one, not even grandstanding Democrats, is above the law.
The newly updated ICE Facility Visitation Guidelines for Congressional Members and Staff leave no room for interpretation. Here’s how DHS is shutting down the left’s favorite tricks:
24-Hour Notice Required: No more surprise ambushes by unelected staffers. Anyone attempting to enter without clearance will be turned away.
Mandatory ID Verification: No exceptions—government-issued identification is non-negotiable.
No Recording Devices: Democrats love staging photo ops, but ICE has banned cell phones and cameras inside facilities.
No Campaigning: The Hatch Act prohibits political stunts, meaning town halls, press conferences, and propaganda sessions are forbidden.
Security First: All visitors must pass through magnetometers and are subject to searches—no weapons, drugs, or contraband allowed.
No Donations: Leftists often exploit detainees for sympathy points by delivering “gifts.” ICE has put an end to that.
Members of Congress cannot break the law in the name of “oversight.” All members and staff need to comply with facility rules, procedures, and instructions from ICE personnel on site.

While the liberal media spins this as “Trump’s cruel crackdown,” the truth is simple: this administration believes in law and order. President Trump has consistently defended the rule of law, and DHS’s guidelines reinforce that no one—not even Democrat lawmakers—gets to ignore security protocols for cheap political points.
The left’s tantrum over ICE facilities isn’t about “human rights”—it’s about undermining border security and protecting criminal aliens. Meanwhile, President Trump and his administration remain steadfast in enforcing the laws that keep Americans safe.
