Don Lemon Nods Along As Democrat Compares Redistricting To The Holocaust [Video]

If you thought American politics had hit rock bottom, Texas State Rep. Jolanda Jones just whipped out a political jackhammer. In a livestream about Texas’s 2026 redistricting plan, she compared the GOP’s proposed map — you know, the kind of thing that happens every decade because the Constitution says so — to the Holocaust. And in the corner of the screen, there’s former CNN host Don Lemon nodding along like she’s revealing the cure for cancer.

The Holocaust Card: Last Refuge Of The Argument-Free

Jones didn’t just criticize the Republican map; she detonated the “everything I dislike is literally Hitler” grenade. “I will liken this to the Holocaust,” she declared, before delivering the obligatory “good people remained silent” speech. Somehow, adjusting congressional lines is now equivalent to one of the worst atrocities in human history. This is what happens when Democrats run out of legitimate talking points — they grab the Holocaust card, swipe it, and hope nobody notices the moral bankruptcy fee.

Don Lemon’s Mmhmm Moment

As Jones spun her apocalyptic fairy tale, Lemon offered the verbal equivalent of a head nod in church: “Mmhmm.” Maybe he agreed, maybe he was daydreaming about his next career pivot, but either way, his visible approval is now part of the story. This is the same guy who told America that women over 40 are “past their prime,” so his moral compass isn’t exactly a Swiss precision instrument. Yet here he is, cosigning a Holocaust comparison over congressional maps.

The Great Democrat Escape

Jones is one of over 50 Democrats who packed their bags and fled Texas to prevent Republicans from having a quorum. They’re holed up in Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York, acting like they’re hiding from Interpol instead of from a special legislative session. Republicans have authorized $500-a-day fines and civil arrest warrants, but good luck enforcing those outside the Lone Star State. This is political theater at its finest — and by “finest,” I mean most ridiculous.

When Genocide Comparisons Become Political Wallpaper

Even some Democrats are backing away from Jones’s comments, because when you compare every political loss to genocide, the word stops meaning anything. Instead of rallying people around their redistricting complaints, Democrats now have to explain why one of their own equated legislative map-making with the Holocaust. And Don Lemon’s “Mmhmm” just cemented this moment as another entry in the “why people don’t take politics seriously anymore” file.
