Kate Gosselin’s Son Accuses Her of Abuse

During interview, Collin Gosselin, a former reality star from the series “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” accused his estranged mother Kate of directing her anger and frustration towards him when she was going through a divorce and raising eight young children.

“I know my mother was going through a lot of things. I mean, a divorce and plenty of different things that can’t be easy to go through,” Collin said in a preview of Vice TV’s “Dark Side of the 2000s” documentary.

“And, you know, I want to think that she needed someone to take out her anger and frustration on, and it was just kind of me,” he continued. “I was in the way and I was there. So, she chose me.”

According to Collin, he was not a perfect child and he believes that his misbehavior was no worse than that of his siblings. He is part of a set of sextuplets that includes Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, and Joel, with two older twin siblings, Madelyn and Cara, who are 22 years old.

Hannah was interviewed as well, and she supported her brother’s accusations. “[Collin] would be separated from us,” she claimed in the documentary. “Like, he would not get to come and play outside with us. He would eat dinner at different times than us.”

“I don’t think effort was made in the home to help him learn what behavior is acceptable and what behavior is not acceptable,” Hannah said.

According to Buzzfeed, in 2016 Kate enrolled Collin, who was 12 years old at the time, in a behavioral learning facility. In 2018, Jon took him out of that school, and at that time, he was granted full custody of Collin.

“After being [in the facility], I didn’t have a relationship with her,” Collin told Entertainment Tonight in November. “Even before [being] there, I don’t think we had much of a relationship and I think that just kept tearing it even more down.”

“I want to believe it was because of TV and what being in the public eye does to a family. I think it tore us apart,” he said. “It gave us less time to actually be together as a family, [and] more time to be in the public eye.”
