Now, thanks to CNN’s Scott Jennings, a Democrat operative has finally admitted the quiet part out loud—confirming what we’ve known all along: the New York prosecution of Trump was a blatant act of political lawfare, part of the organized “resistance” to take down the 45th President by any means necessary.
During a segment on CNN’s The Arena with Kasie Hunt, Jennings cornered Lis Smith, a former communications advisor to Pete Buttigieg, into revealing the truth. As the discussion turned to Democratic frustrations over their leadership’s failures, Smith let slip the real agenda behind the relentless attacks on Trump. “Democrats are learning … that Democrats can not only be the party of resistance,” she said, before adding, “We resisted so hard between 2017 and 2024. We impeached the guy [Trump]. Like, we prosecuted him. Convicted him of 34 felony counts. And guess what, he still got elected. I don’t know how much harder we can resist right now.”
Jennings, seizing the moment, fired back: “Wait, are you admitting that the case against Trump in New York was part of the organized Democratic party resistance?” Smith, grinning like a Cheshire cat, replied, “It was a Democratic prosecutor.” The admission was as damning as it was predictable. Jennings later shared the clip, marveling, “I can’t believe it. They finally admitted it on live TV.”
This shameless confession exposes the depths to which the left has sunk in its desperation to destroy Trump. From the moment he descended the golden escalator in 2015, the liberal establishment—aided by their allies in the media and the deep state—has waged an unrelenting campaign of smears, hoaxes, and politically motivated prosecutions. The Russia collusion delusion, two bogus impeachments, and now this laughably flimsy New York case—all were nothing but tools in the Democrats’ “resistance” playbook.

Yet despite their best efforts, Trump not only survived their witch hunts but thrived, returning to the White House stronger than ever. The American people saw through the charade, recognizing these attacks for what they were: a desperate attempt to silence a leader who threatens the corrupt Washington elite.
The liberal media, of course, has been complicit every step of the way. CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times have parroted every narrative, amplified every smear, and ignored every inconsistency in their quest to delegitimize Trump. But as Smith’s admission proves, the truth always comes out.
