Over the past weekend, a Minnesota pizzeria found itself at the center of controversy after a group of Republican staffers and Trump supporters were reportedly ejected from their premises. This incident has sparked widespread debate, particularly given the growing number of similar occurrences where businesses have allegedly discriminated against conservatives and Trump supporters.
The episode began to gain traction across social media platforms after members of the group, including Republican Congressional candidate Dalia al-Aqidi from Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, shared their experiences. Al-Aqidi stated unequivocally that the expulsion was anything but a misunderstanding. According to her account, a person who appeared to hold a managerial position insisted they leave, using the phrase, “Please leave now.”

This group was simply enjoying a post-event meal after attending a Senate District convention. Several attendees tried to convey to the restaurant staff that theirs was not a political event but rather a casual dinner gathering. Despite their attempts to clarify, the staff seemed uninterested in listening. Al-Aqidi remarked on the incident, noting how it underscored a problematic level of disrespect: “This incident should serve as a wake-up call for everyone,” she stated. “While we may reside in a predominantly blue district, we will not allow ourselves to be bullied or silenced.”
This particular incident adds to the growing list of occasions where conservatives feel they have been marginalized because of their political beliefs. It showcases a disturbing trend where establishments appear to openly vilify the segment of American society that supports Trump. Such actions threaten the core values of community and mutual respect that should transcend political affiliations. The call for respect and coexistence is critical, as al-Aqidi underscores: “We are one community, and it is essential that we learn to coexist with mutual respect, regardless of our political differences.”
Attempting to manage the fallout, Davanni’s, the implicated pizzeria, quickly released a statement. This statement sought to reassure patrons that their establishment is open to all, irrespective of their political stance. They attributed the incident to a misunderstanding related to their policy on political and fundraising events, expressing regret for the misunderstanding. “We’re deeply sorry for the actions taken,” the statement read—an all-too-familiar tune, as businesses often apologize after facing public backlash.
Davanni’s declaration continues by emphasizing their commitment to fostering a welcoming environment: “Our teams always work to create a welcoming, friendly environment and dining experience for all guests, of all backgrounds and beliefs.”

The official website of Davanni’s brands them as a family-owned restaurant and a Twin Cities tradition since 1975. Despite operating 19 locations and employing over 900 people, it seems even a long-standing establishment can entangle itself in political skirmishes, especially when leftist tendencies overshadow their operations. Such actions often reflect not only individual bias but also signify a broader cultural battle.
The narrative of leftist media and establishments demonstrating bias against Trump supporters is all too prevalent. Only once their discriminatory practices face exposure do these establishments rush to broadcast their apologies, branding it as a ‘misunderstanding.’
I think this is going to be a case of “go woke, go broke”. What do you think?

The only thing good about Minnesota is George Floyd is still dead.
