Former UFC star Nate Diaz is wanted by police in New Orleans after an alleged altercation on Bourbon Street early Saturday morning. According to reports, Diaz choked a man who resembled Logan Paul, the YouTube star and boxer who has been challenging Diaz to a fight. The incident was captured on video and shared on social media.
ESPN reported,
Petersen, who is known for his resemblance to fellow influencer Logan Paul, could be seen in the video confronting Diaz with people fighting on all sides. Petersen appeared to engage with Diaz, who locked Petersen in a guillotine choke submission standing up until Petersen was unconscious. Diaz then let Petersen drop to the street below, where Petersen hit his head on the pavement.
Petersen posted a video to social media Saturday that showed the head injury.
“I don’t know what the hell I did to Nate Diaz,” Petersen said in the video. “But I’m telling you what, I’m gonna knock him the f— out when I know he’s coming. You caught me off guard, dude. What did you think I was, Logan?”
Diaz was in town to attend a Misfits Boxing event at the XULA Convocation Center, where he supported his teammate Chris Avila.
Police arrived at the scene and found the man bleeding from the back of his head. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Diaz had already left the area by then. Police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Diaz on Monday, charging him with second-degree battery.
Diaz, who is from Stockton, California, left UFC last year and is expected to make his boxing debut against Jake Paul later this year. Paul has been taunting Diaz on social media, calling him a “washed up fighter” and a “scared little boy”. Diaz has not responded to Paul’s comments yet, but apparently he thought he was responding to him in person.
