But another voter, Charles Barthelemy, had a strong opposing view. He stated, “The lord made life. Jesus Christ made life. And you have to value life. So Kamala wants to take life.” Barthelemy’s stance aligns with many Christians who see abortion as a violation of religious beliefs.
This argument was countered by Anthony Wilson, who pointed out that men do not have the same experiences as women and therefore should not have a say in what women do with their bodies. He stated, “There’s so much that we don’t know as men that we don’t have the privilege to opine on. Like we will never have a period. We will never go through childbirth, so to even fix our mouths to comment on how. I don’t care what God said, women have the right to govern their bodies. And it‘s time for men to shut our mouths.”
But where do Harris and her political party stand on the issue? On the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Harris declared, “Donald Trump is guilty of the stealing of reproductive freedom from the women of America.” This statement reveals her strong stance on women’s rights and access to abortion.

Even Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz, is pushing for more access to abortion. In fact, just a day after the Supreme Court’s decision, Walz issued an executive order to turn Minnesota into a “safe haven” for those seeking abortions. This order would prevent individuals from states that have banned abortion from being extradited for receiving the procedure in Minnesota.
What this all boils down to is a clear divide in beliefs and values between Harris and her supporters and those who align with Trump’s pro-life stance. While Harris and her party argue that women have the ultimate say when it comes to their bodies, Trump and many others see abortion as a violation of human life.
The discussion on CNN highlighted the deep divisions surrounding the issue of abortion, particularly among black male voters. Harris’ strong stance on the issue only further polarizes the two sides, and it remains to be seen how this will affect her 2024 presidential campaign. As for Trump and his supporters, they will continue to fight for the protection of human life, even in the face of opposition.
