Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio called out a FEMA official for telling workers Trump supporters during disaster relief efforts, comparing the comments to those made by disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok. In a House Oversight Committee hearing Tuesday, Jordan grilled FEMA Director Deanne Criswell over a text message allegedly sent by former Disaster Survivor Assistance crew leader Marn’i Washington.
The text message, which listed “best practices” for workers, included avoiding “homes advertising Trump signs.” Jordan pressed Criswell on her previous statement that the message was “reprehensible” and “isolated,” stating that it couldn’t be both, and questioned who was not telling the truth. Criswell responded by saying the agency was conducting an investigation.
Jordan then displayed the screenshot of the text message on screen and read it aloud, noting the matter-of-fact tone and the directive to avoid Trump homes. He continued to push Criswell on her statements, noting that they were similar to instances where liberals had demeaned Trump supporters in the past.
“It sounds like Peter Strzok,” Jordan said, “when he said ‘I just went into Walmart, I can smell the Trump supporters.’ It sounds like Joe Biden when he said all the ‘garbage’ I see is the Trump supporters out there.”
Jordan highlighted the disdain and mindset in the government towards Trump supporters, using examples of past comments made by government officials. He pointed to the fired FBI agent Strzok, who was dismissed for expressing anti-Trump sentiments while investigating alleged collusion between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia.
“In my 23 years in the FBI, I have not seen a more impactful series of missteps which called into question the entire organization and more thoroughly damaged the reputation of the entire organization,” then-FBI deputy director David Bowditch wrote in a draft of Strzok’s termination letter.
This is just another example of the liberal media’s ongoing bias against President Trump and his supporters.
The pattern of demeaning and degrading those who don’t share their views has even seeped into government agencies like FEMA. The text message sent to workers is just further proof of the deep-seated animosity towards Trump and his supporters within the government. It’s time to hold these officials accountable and demand fair treatment for all Americans.
