The shocking suspension of six Secret Service agents tied to the failed assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, has reignited fury over the agency’s glaring security lapses. While the identities of the suspended personnel remain undisclosed, Fox News host Jesse Watters confirmed the disciplinary action, revealing that the agents were suspended without pay for up to six weeks before being reassigned to restricted duty roles with diminished responsibilities.
CBS News reported Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn’s weak attempt at damage control, stating, “We aren’t going to fire our way out of this… We’re going to focus on the root cause and fix the deficiencies that put us in that situation.” Quinn admitted, “Secret Service is totally accountable for Butler… Butler was an operational failure.” But accountability without transparency is meaningless—especially when the life of a former and potentially future President was on the line.
The assassination attempt on July 13, 2024, exposed catastrophic breakdowns in security. Would-be assassin Thomas Crooks managed to climb onto a rooftop near Trump’s rally, scope his target, and fire multiple shots—one grazing Trump’s ear, killing one rallygoer, and wounding two others. How did this happen? Because the Secret Service ignored every warning sign.
Crooks had flown a drone over the fairgrounds earlier that day, during a period when the Secret Service was experiencing “connectivity issues.” Yet, no one acted. Even worse, as The Washington Post reported, agents never instructed local police to secure the roof Crooks used as his sniper’s nest.
Radio Silence: A Deadly Mistake
Perhaps the most damning evidence of incompetence comes from bodycam footage showing a Butler Township police officer furious that his warnings about Crooks were ignored. Why? Because the Secret Service never picked up their radios.

“Before you motherfckers came up here, I popped my head up there like an idiot by myself, dude,”* the officer raged. “Then he turned around and I fcking dropped, and I started fcking calling out, ‘Bro, fcking on top of the roof.’ Fcking, we’re not on the same frequency?”
This wasn’t just negligence—it was a dereliction of duty. The liberal media, however, has downplayed these failures, focusing instead on hollow reassurances from Quinn rather than demanding answers. Where is the outrage over the near-murder of a President? Where are the calls for a full, independent investigation?
President Trump, ever resilient, survived this cowardly attack and has continued fighting for the American people. But the fact remains: this should never have happened. The Secret Service’s failures put Trump and hundreds of innocent Americans in danger. While suspensions are a start, true accountability means terminations, criminal investigations, and a complete overhaul of the agency’s leadership.
The American people deserve to know: Who dropped the ball? And why are they still on the payroll?
