Watch: ‘The View’ Co-Host Uses Shameless Comparison to Label J6: “Worst Day in American History”

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin faced backlash Monday after invoking the Holocaust and World War II while labeling January 6, 2021, as one of the “worst days in American history.” Hostin argued that the country cannot move on from the Capitol riot and accused those who believe otherwise of losing their “moral clarity.”

During a segment on the show, Hostin stated, “When you think about the worst moments in American history, like World War II, things that happened like the Holocaust, chattel slavery, we need to never forget because [the] past becomes prologue if you forget.” This shocking comparison drew criticism from viewers and sparked a debate about the severity of the events on January 6th.

The co-host’s statement not only undermines the true horrors of the Holocaust and World War II but also attempts to equate them with the actions of a small group of individuals on January 6th. Hostin’s extreme rhetoric only serves to divide the country and further fuel the dangerous narrative that January 6th was a full-blown insurrection.

In reality, the Capitol riot pales in comparison to the atrocities of World War II and the systematic genocide of millions during the Holocaust. While the tragic death of Ashli Babbitt should not be downplayed, comparing it to the millions who lost their lives during these dark moments in history is not only offensive but also completely ludicrous.

Furthermore, the co-host’s claims that the country cannot move on from the events of January 6th only perpetuate the political division that has been plaguing the nation for years. Instead of promoting unity and healing, Hostin’s words serve to deepen the divide and further polarize the country.

It’s time for the liberal media, like “The View,” to stop sensationalizing and exploiting tragic events for their own agenda. Instead, they should focus on objective reporting and fostering constructive dialogue. The American people deserve better than inflammatory rhetoric and exaggerated claims.
