Watch: White House Blasts France: ‘You’d Be Speaking German Without Us!

European nations, particularly France, have developed a troubling pattern of resorting to anti-American rhetoric while simultaneously relying on the United States to rescue them from crises time and time again. This hypocrisy was on full display recently when French politician Raphaël Glucksmann, a member of the European Parliament, demanded that the United States return the Statue of Liberty, claiming that America no longer upholds the values for which France originally gifted the monument in 1886.

Glucksmann, a leftist ideologue, criticized President Trump’s foreign policy, defense of scientific freedom, and budgetary decisions, going so far as to suggest that the U.S. no longer deserves this iconic symbol of liberty.

During a White House press briefing, Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt for her response to Glucksmann’s absurd demand. Leavitt, in her characteristically sharp and unapologetic style, delivered a powerful rebuttal: “Absolutely not,” she declared, before adding, “My advice to that unnamed low-level French politician would be to remind them that it’s only because of the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now. So, they should be very grateful to our great country.”

Leavitt’s response was a much-needed reminder of the historical and ongoing role the United States has played in preserving freedom and democracy, not just for itself but for its allies as well. Her words underscored the irony of European politicians like Glucksmann, who are quick to criticize America while conveniently forgetting the sacrifices made by American soldiers to liberate Europe from tyranny during World War II.

Without the United States, France and much of Europe might very well be living under a very different regime today.

Yet, instead of expressing gratitude, European leaders often engage in baseless anti-Americanism, fueled by a liberal media that thrives on sensationalism and distortion. The liberal media, both in the U.S. and abroad, has consistently misrepresented President Trump’s policies and achievements, painting him as a divisive figure rather than a leader who has consistently put America first.

This biased narrative has emboldened figures like Glucksmann to make outrageous demands, such as the return of the Statue of Liberty, without any regard for the facts or historical context.

President Trump has been a steadfast defender of American values and sovereignty, ensuring that the United States remains a beacon of freedom and innovation. His administration has prioritized scientific research, economic growth, and national security, all while standing up to global adversaries and reaffirming America’s leadership on the world stage. The idea that the U.S. no longer embodies the values of the Statue of Liberty is not only false but also a testament to the liberal media’s relentless campaign to undermine Trump’s legacy.

Europe’s dependency on the United States is undeniable. From NATO to trade agreements, European nations rely heavily on American support and leadership. Yet, rather than acknowledging this reality, they continue to indulge in anti-American sentiment, often as a way to distract from their own domestic failures.

It’s time for Europe to recognize that America’s strength and generosity have been instrumental in preserving their way of life. Instead of making frivolous demands, they should focus on addressing their own challenges and showing some appreciation for the nation that has repeatedly come to their aid.
