In a revelation that should shake every American to their core, the CIA has confirmed what many suspected all along: senior intelligence officials deliberately pushed the discredited Steele dossier to frame Donald Trump and cripple his presidency. And now, there’s more—John Brennan and James Comey are officially under criminal investigation.
The Dirty Playbook: How It Happened
The so-called Russia collusion narrative wasn’t just wrong—it was engineered. The dossier, secretly funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC, was crafted by British ex-spy Christopher Steele with help from shady foreign sources. Even after the FBI debunked most of it, top officials pressed forward.
Former CIA Director John Brennan, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and FBI Director James Comey all played pivotal roles in including the phony dossier in the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA). Dissenting analysts warned that it would undermine the report’s credibility. Brennan ignored them. Clapper signed off. Comey weaponized it.
Brennan and Comey: Now Facing Justice?
According to DOJ sources speaking to Fox News Digital, the FBI has opened criminal investigations into Brennan and Comey for their roles in the Russia probe. The charges reportedly under review include making false statements to Congress—and possibly more.
Sources described Brennan and Comey’s actions as part of a “conspiracy” that could lead to a wide range of prosecution options. CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred evidence of Brennan’s wrongdoing to FBI Director Kash Patel for potential prosecution, with the investigation now underway.
Brennan’s situation is particularly damning. In May 2023, he testified to Congress that he didn’t believe the Steele dossier should have been included in the ICA. However, declassified records show Brennan pushed aggressively for its inclusion, directly contradicting his sworn testimony.
As for Comey, DOJ sources confirmed an active investigation but declined to share details of what specifically is being probed.
Silencing the Whistleblowers
The recently declassified “Lessons Learned” review marks the first time career CIA officials have publicly acknowledged that Obama-era political appointees—like Brennan—politicized intelligence work. The report condemned their decision to include the Steele dossier, saying it “ran counter to fundamental tradecraft principles” and ultimately “undermined the credibility” of the ICA.
Newly revealed records show CIA analysts specializing in Russia objected in writing, warning Brennan that including the dossier “jeopardized the credibility of the entire paper.” Their objections were buried. Thirteen other intelligence agencies were excluded from the process, ensuring only handpicked voices aligned with the anti-Trump narrative.
The ICA, ordered by President Obama, was rushed out just days before Trump’s inauguration. Brennan and his allies ensured it painted Trump as a puppet of Putin, feeding a media frenzy and setting the stage for Robert Mueller’s two-year investigation.
No Accountability—And a Media Payday
When the collusion house of cards collapsed, there were no indictments—at least not yet. Brennan landed a cushy gig at MSNBC. Clapper became a CNN contributor. Comey went on a book tour, positioning himself as a moral compass. Meanwhile, the American people were left with a weakened presidency and years of political chaos.
Even now, Brennan and Comey’s future remains uncertain. Neither has responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, and both the FBI and CIA declined to address the ongoing investigations.
A Reckoning—or Another Cover-Up?
Current CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who declassified the report, didn’t mince words: “All the world can now see the truth: Brennan, Clapper, and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals—all to get Trump.”
DNI Tulsi Gabbard echoed the sentiment, vowing to hold corrupt officials accountable: “We are digging deep, and some U.S. attorneys are already working their own cases.”
But skeptics are wary. As one commenter put it, “Nothing ever happens. They’ll make a show of investigating it, and it’ll fade away.”
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about Trump. It’s about whether the intelligence community can be trusted. The same agencies tasked with safeguarding democracy weaponized their power to interfere with it.
If these abuses go unpunished, what stops the next “target” from being any other political outsider—or even ordinary citizens?
The system only works if there’s accountability. Right now, that’s in short supply.
