CNN’s recent addition to their team, medical correspondent Meg Tirrell, has proven herself to be distinctly left-leaning in her views. This is particularly evident in her response to the Supreme Court’s ruling on Idaho’s abortion law. Tirrell appeared to suggest that men can become pregnant, repeatedly referring to “a pregnant person’s health” and a “person who’s pregnant” when discussing the Court’s stance on the case and federal laws concerning pregnancy.
Tirrell’s conversation with Jim Acosta revealed her belief that the Court’s decision permits “medically necessary care” in Idaho, which she interprets as the right to terminate a pregnancy in order to “stabilize a pregnant person’s health”. This assertion disregards the fundamental biological fact that men cannot become pregnant – a reality that Tirrell seems to overlook in her alignment with liberal media and advocacy groups.
Not only did Tirrell reaffirm her beliefs, but she also intensified her stance by describing Idaho’s abortion ban as “strict”. The ban only allows for abortions when the life of the pregnant individual is at risk. Once again, this demonstrates her disregard for biological truths and perpetuates the incorrect notion that men can become pregnant.
Later in the segment, Tirrell suggested that the Court’s decision would create “confusion” for states with abortion bans, including those with exceptions for the health of the pregnant individual. This comment further reinforces her belief that men can become pregnant and require access to abortion services for their own health.
In a subsequent segment with Wolf Blitzer, Tirrell demonstrated her bias by characterizing the Guttmacher Institute as a “pro-reproductive rights group” while labeling the Charlotte Lozier Institute as “against abortion access”. This classification not only displays bias but also propagates the false narrative that abortion is a reproductive right rather than an act that ends an innocent life.
Tirrell’s closing comments on the Supreme Court’s decision revealed her lack of credibility and bias. She referred to “protections for women” who need abortions, completely overlooking the fact that abortions are performed on unborn children, not women. She also highlighted alleged fears of being pregnant in Idaho due to limited access to abortion services, ignoring the fact that men cannot become pregnant and therefore do not require these services.
It is evident that Meg Tirrell’s strong left-wing bias has led her to overlook basic biological facts, making her a spokesperson for liberal media and advocacy groups. Her statements on Idaho’s abortion law and the Supreme Court’s decision only serve to perpetuate false narratives and advance the agenda of these groups.
It is worrying that CNN has chosen someone who denies fundamental biology as their medical correspondent. Even more concerning is the fact that her views are being broadcast to the public. America needs journalists who report the truth, not those who promote their own biased agendas.
