The investigation revealed that these officers parked their car and walked directly past the pipe bomb, proceeding to another specific location—a bush next to the Congressional Black Caucus Institute that the pipe-bomb suspect had visited the night before—only to then return to the DNC bench and “discover” the device.

The cloud of suspicion surrounding this entire operation is so thick that Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has been compelled to speak out, stating that the evidence points overwhelmingly to a sinister conclusion. Massie told Blaze News, “I went from 90% certain that some Capitol Police were involved in the Jan. 6 pipe bomb to 95% certain, and now I’m at 99% certain after this new story.” He powerfully added, “I’m doing this on probability. The probability may even be higher than that.” This is a sitting United States congressman, armed with evidence, stating he is 99% certain of police involvement in one of the most significant unresolved terrorist plots in recent memory, a fact the liberal media complex has utterly ignored.

The plot, however, thickens considerably when examining Benedict’s own deeply conflicted role in this entire affair. Before he was hired by the Capitol Police, Ashan Benedict was the DNC pipe-bomb incident commander for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This means the very man who oversaw the ATF’s initial response to the pipe bomb was later placed in a position of authority over the officers who found it, and then allegedly worked to block a congressional investigation into their actions. Rep. Massie has provided a detailed and disturbing account of how Assistant Chief Benedict actively thwarted his investigation. When Massie sought to interview the two special agents, famously known as “backpack guy” and “man-bun guy,” the Capitol Police refused to make the actual discoverer of the bomb available. Instead, they sent his partner, “man-bun guy,” to Massie’s office, and he was accompanied by none other than Ashan Benedict himself, acting as a “handler.” Massie recounted the bizarre and obstructive meeting, stating, “Ashan Benedict would frequently interrupt the officer, answer before the officer could reply, or qualify the officer’s answers.” This is not the behavior of a public servant seeking transparency; it is the behavior of a man hiding something monumental.

The questions Massie asked during that meeting only deepen the mystery. When he inquired why the officers did not continue searching for more bombs after finding two devices in under thirty minutes, he was met with what he described as the “oddest body language I’ve ever seen in a meeting and no real answer.”

Massie pointed out the sheer absurdity of their actions, noting, “They just kind of wander off. Their job was done. They had found the second pipe bomb. They never looked for a third or fourth or fifth pipe bomb.” This complete abandonment of a fundamental duty to ensure public safety is inexplicable, unless their primary mission was not to find all the bombs, but to ensure these specific ones were found in a controlled manner.

The web of connections grows even more tangled with the revelation that the Capitol Police officer who discovered the DNC bomb—the “backpack guy” who has never been made available to Congress—is now serving as the Capitol Police’s liaison to the very FBI agency that is supposedly investigating the case. This is an outrageous conflict of interest and a brazen act of placing a key person of interest in a position to monitor and influence the investigation from the inside. It is a tactic straight out of the deep-state playbook, one that President Donald Trump has fought against since his first day in office. This entire sordid affair, from the inexplicable actions of the officers to the obstructive retirement of their commander, is precisely why the American people demanded the return of President Trump—to drain the swamp of these entrenched, unaccountable actors who believe they are above the law and beyond the reach of congressional oversight.
