Josh Duggar Suffering Behind Bars

Josh Duggar, the disgraced former reality TV star, is currently serving his 151-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Seagoville in Texas. However, recent reports suggest that the scorching heat in the prison has become a major concern for inmates, with temperatures soaring to dangerous levels.

Texas has been experiencing record-breaking heatwaves, and FCI Seagoville is no exception to the scorching temperatures. According to a loved one of an inmate, most of the buildings in the all-male prison lack air conditioning, causing inmates to suffer in the sweltering heat.

Last week, temperatures in Seagoville soared into the 90s and even surpassed 100 degrees. The area is currently under an excessive heat warning. These extreme weather conditions pose a significant challenge to the well-being of the inmates, especially considering the lack of adequate cooling facilities.

A spokesperson for Seagoville confirmed that some housing units within the prison do not have air conditioning, while others are equipped with it. However, the spokesperson mentioned that in units without air conditioning, there are designated rooms where inmates can find escape from the heat. These rooms are equipped with fans, televisions, and computers, offering inmates a chance to cool down. Despite these measures, the overall conditions within the non-air-conditioned housing units remain uncomfortable, with the heat taking a toll on the inmates’ well-being.

In response to concerns raised about the heat conditions, a representative for Seagoville stated that supervisors conduct daily temperature checks in the housing units throughout all three shifts. They emphasized the availability of air conditioning or fans for all offenders and assured that everyone has access to potable water.

The representative emphasized that the well-being of both employees and incarcerated individuals is a priority for FCI Seagoville. They stated that no inmate health concerns, such as fainting or injuries related to heat conditions, have been reported.

According to an insider source, the air-conditioned spaces within Seagoville rely on generator power. However, the electricity supply is inconsistent, resulting in frequent outages due to overload. When the generator is functioning, these spaces offer some relief from the heat. However, the intermittent power supply further exacerbates the challenging conditions experienced by the inmates.

In recent months, various media outlets have shed light on the Duggar family’s troubled history, including how Josh Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, concealed his disturbing and illegal behavior for years. A documentary titled “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” exposed the efforts made by the Duggar parents to cover up their son’s actions.
