Man Saves Woman with Medical Emergency Mid-Air on Flight

A routine JetBlue flight from LaGuardia Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida took a terrifying turn when a woman suddenly fainted in the aisle as the crew was handing out drinks. What happened next was nothing short of amazing. A fellow passenger came to her aid and is being credited with saving her life after she experienced a medical emergency.

Photos obtained by Simon Gifter and shared with Fox News Digital show a man wearing blue gloves assisting a woman lying on the floor of the plane. The woman can be seen with an oxygen mask on her face. Passengers reported that the man was calm and composed throughout the incident and quickly jumped into action when he saw what had happened. It turns out he is not just any ordinary passenger, but rather an off-duty firefighter who happens to be trained in first aid and CPR.

After seeing the woman collapse, the pilot immediately prepared for an emergency landing and notified air traffic control of their situation. The staff aboard the flight also acted quickly and provided oxygen masks to passengers as well as blankets for those seated near the woman for comfort and privacy. JetBlue said that everyone on board “remained calm throughout” and that they are “extremely proud of our crew for handling the situation with professionalism and care.”

In times like these, it is always comforting to know that there are good people out there willing to help others in need without hesitation or reward. This off-duty firefighter’s quick thinking saved this woman’s life…a true act of heroism. The woman was said to be conscious and talking when the plane landed. An ambulance reportedly met the plane after it landed, and emergency personnel boarded the flight to take the woman off first. I’m sure everyone was thankful for that one man.
