The liberal-dominated tech industry is shifting its tune as Big Tech moguls “beg and plead” for Trump’s favor.
Since Trump’s reelection in November, tech executives have been cozying up to the former president, with Google, Apple, Amazon, and Meta CEOs all meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
This sudden change in attitude can be traced back to Trump’s promises of pro-business policies and his stance on issues such as immigration and free market innovation.
As Meta (formerly Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with Trump, he appeared to be acknowledging the shift in public opinion towards Trump-like policies, as evidenced by the popular vote in the 2020 election.

According to tech investor Peter Thiel, Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s endorsement of Trump during the campaign made other tech execs “feel safe” in supporting him.
Tech industry leaders have expressed fears over the Biden Administration’s anti-business stance, particularly in the areas of AI and cryptocurrency. Biden’s plan to increase taxes on unrealized gains and his push for a federally-controlled digital dollar could stifle innovation and harm small businesses.
Biden’s administration has also taken an aggressive stance against Big Tech, with antitrust lawsuits being filed against major companies. This has caused some in the industry to fear for the future of tech under Biden’s control.

As a result, tech companies such as Amazon and Apple have been quick to express support for Trump and his policies, with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy congratulating the former president on his victory and Apple CEO Tim Cook meeting with Trump to discuss immigration.
Even TikTok, a Chinese-owned app that Trump had previously deemed a national security threat, is looking to cozy up to Trump, with its CEO meeting with the president at Mar-a-Lago.
