Rapper / Snitch Hospitalized After Gym Attack

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after suffering injuries to his face and bruises following an ambush by a group of attackers in the bathroom of a LA Fitness gym sauna while he was in South Florida. According to his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was attacked by three or four men and although he put up a fight, he eventually succumbed to their attack. Once word spread about the altercation, the assailants fled, and Hernandez was swiftly transported via ambulance for medical attention.

Hernandez had served two years in prison beginning in 2019 on nine charges including racketeering, drug trafficking and firearm offenses due to his involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods gang. However, after cooperating with federal officials leading to several convictions of his associates, he was granted a shortened prison sentence followed by early release due to COVID-19 concerns. As described by a judge as a “model prisoner” at the time of his release in April 2020, it appears that Hernandez still found himself in harm’s way.

TikTok videos taken during and post-attack showed evidence of Hernandez being punched as well as him walking out of the gym with bloodied cuts across his face. The assailants were also heard saying “Take a picture. I’m gonna be famous now.” TMZ obtained photos from inside an unnamed hospital which showed gashes and swelling across Hernandez’s face along with injuries suffered to his jaw ribs and back.

It has been reported that just days prior to this incident Hernandez had been ejected from a Miami baseball stadium for being intoxicated and disrupting fans – could this have added to why he felt threatened? Regardless, it is clear that Hernandez’s attorney intends on taking measures with federal authorities to make sure 6ix9ine gets proper protection moving forward from any future encounters or danger.
