Parents, you’ve really got to teach your kids about not doing stupid things. I don’t know how all of a sudden the line between reality and fantasy has become so blurred, but it definitely has. We have men thinking that they can be women, women thinking that they can be men, that children are smart enough to make a permanent decision about their bodies. But in addition to all of that madness, there are apparently some kids – teenagers even – who think that they can become superheroes.
I don’t just mean that they can be heroes and do great things. That is certainly possible. But I mean like becoming REAL superheroes that you see on TV.
A 15-year-old boy made headlines when he injected himself with mercury in an attempt to give himself superpowers. The teenager was inspired by the X-Men comic books and movies, and wanted to emulate his favorite characters.
The boy had obtained the mercury from a thermometer and injected it into his arm. He believed that this would give him superhuman abilities like those of the X-Men heroes. Unfortunately, his plan didn’t work out as he had hoped.
The injection caused serious health problems for the boy, including severe pain in his arm and difficulty breathing. He was taken to a hospital where doctors were able to treat him for mercury poisoning. Fortunately, he recovered from the incident without any long-term damage to his health.
I get it, kids do stupid things. I remember when I was a young kid, I tried to test my reaction time by spraying hair spray at my face. I’m sure you can imagine how that turned out.
Overall, this story serves as an important reminder about the dangers of trying to imitate fictional characters and not disposing of hazardous materials properly. It is important for young people to remember that while superheroes may be inspiring, they are not real people and attempting dangerous stunts can have serious consequences on their health and safety. Thankfully, this incident didn’t lead to his death.
