A Delivery Nobody Ordered
A Houston, Texas, father says a routine DoorDash order turned into the kind of story nobody wants attached to dinner. According to Fox 26 Houston, Kiante Matlock was playing video games with his daughter on August 24 when she noticed a notification on his phone. Matlock checked it and saw that the delivery driver had arrived. That should have meant food on the porch and a normal evening at home. Instead, when he looked closer, he realized the driver had come to his front door completely naked. Well, that is one way to prove customer service standards may need more than a checkbox.
The Camera Told the Story
Matlock said he first wondered if the man outside was wearing some kind of outfit, telling Fox 26 Houston, “I look out and say ‘does he got a onesie on.’” But once he opened the camera view, the answer was clear. “So I open the camera and look, and he’s completely naked,” he said. The footage reportedly showed the driver calmly placing the order on the porch, then walking back to his car as if this was just another normal delivery run. Matlock said that by the time he reached the front door, the driver was already gone, adding, “I didn’t expect no one to drop my food off naked, which is crazy.”
DoorDash Responds
Fox 26 Houston reported that Matlock threw the food away immediately, which seems like the only sane move here, and contacted DoorDash. The company later refunded the order. A DoorDash spokesperson told Fox 26 Houston that what the customer experienced was “abhorrent” and said the company had reached out directly to offer support. The spokesperson also called the man’s behavior “vulgar and completely unacceptable” and said DoorDash permanently removed his access to the platform as soon as the company became aware of the incident.
Company Says It Will Assist Law Enforcement
DoorDash also said it does not tolerate sexual harassment or misconduct of any kind and stands ready to assist law enforcement with any investigation. The company added that the driver was permanently removed from the platform for violating its community guidelines. For families ordering food at home, this is not a small matter. People expect the person bringing dinner to follow basic decency, wear clothes, and leave the order without turning the front porch into a police-report-worthy circus. That should not be a high bar, but apparently here we are.
