UTSA Student Draws Backlash for Using Charlie Kirk Assassination Poem to Taunt Conservative Speaker

Hostility on the UTSA Campus

At a Turning Point USA “Pick Up the Mic” event at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Christian Collins, founder of the Texas Youth Summit, faced a disturbing exchange. A student who introduced herself as Pamper Baby stepped to the microphone and read a poem celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination. She then told Collins he was brave for appearing on campus without neck protection. Collins said she delivered the poem with glee before making that comment. Rather than respond with threats or anger, he told her, “I’d pray for her.” Political disagreements can be fierce, but celebrating the killing of an opponent is not normal debate.

A Poem Built Around a Killing

The student said she had taken Plan B and felt guilty as an immigrant before launching into a parody of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Her version centered on what she called the “Kirkiversary.” It mentioned flags, memes, a silent podcast, nervous hot takes, and solemnly remembering “a shot to the neck.” The poem ended with an invitation to a “Squirt for Kirk” event, along with comments about bringing one’s own equipment and vaccines being included. Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University in September 2025. Turning that death into a joke and a celebration is not edgy comedy. It is a grim reminder of how quickly political hatred can strip away compassion.

Collins Chooses Prayer Over Retaliation

Collins posted video of the exchange and wrote that the student read the poem with “such glee” before commenting on his neck. He also wrote, “This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway.” TPUSA contributor Jack Posobiec shared the clip and wrote, “I don’t know what else to tell people. The Left wants us dead,” arguing that political opponents were openly celebrating murder, violence, and slaughter. The Gateway Pundit reported that it had contacted UTSA for comment and would update the article if a response was provided.
