‘House of Horrors’ Survivor Turned TikTok Star and Model 5 Years After Daring Escape

Jordan Turpin, a survivor of years of abuse at the hands of her parents David and Louise, has revealed to Elle magazine that she is constantly on the verge tears. In January 2018, she managed to escape from her captors through a window, but her life since then has been an emotional rollercoaster. Her days begin with attempts to eat or do makeup before further tears put an end to those efforts; she is limited in socializing with others due to being scared of everyone, and the pandemic only made matters worse by bringing feelings of captivity back into her life.

Despite all this, Jordan found solace in TikTok, where she quickly gained hundreds of thousands of followers with her dance routines and life updates. Now, nearing almost one million followers, she is considering going into public life as a career. Her publicist is amazed at how well Jordan has adapted to the platform despite having limited understanding of social media which could have easily left other people struggling. She even got to meet Hailey Bieber and Charli D’Amelio!

Although entertaining fans on TikTok does lighten up Jordan’s mood now and then, she still struggles with daily depression and fear for the future, especially since COVID-19 seemed like a horrible joke to those who couldn’t handle even just a week of it, whereas Jordan had endured years living in captivity without anyone knowing what was going on behind closed doors.

At present, music is something that Jordan is considering pursuing professionally but until then she will focus on finding ways to better cope with her emotions while navigating this new world through trial and error, things that even people who haven’t gone through such turmoil can find challenging. While it may not always be easy, it’s clear that Jordan Turpin’s future looks brighter than ever before.
